1 in 16 Missouri Children Now Homeschooled

ORLANDO, FL — The State of Missouri is experiencing a significant increase in homeschooling numbers. The Policy Research in Missouri Education (PRiME) Center at Saint Louis University released a report stating at least 61,000 students are currently being homeschooled, “more than 6% of the state’s school-aged child population,” says The Center Square. 

With these increases, Missouri joins a growing number of states experiencing substantial homeschool expansion. In 2024, states such as Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Alaska saw 9% growth in homeschooling, while others — like Rhode Island and North Dakota — saw explosive double-digit homeschool growth.
