Robert F. Dees

Maj. Gen. (Retired) Robert F. “Bob” Dees is an experienced leader and an expert in national security issues and resilience. In his 31-year Army career, Maj. Gen. Dees served as an Infantry Officer culminating his career leading U.S Army Rangers in the 101st Airborne Division as an Assistant Division Commander. He also served in key leadership roles as Commander of the Second Infantry Division in Korea and Commander of a combined US-Israeli Task Force for Missile Defense.
Dees retired from the Army in 2003 and joined the public sector as a Microsoft Corporation executive. He then joined Liberty University as Vice President for Military Outreach, adjunct professor, and Director of the nation’s first Institute for Military Resilience where he pioneered resilience programs for service members. During the 2016 presidential campaign, Dees served as National Security Advisor and Campaign Chairman for Dr. Ben Carson.
He is the accomplished author of the Resilience Trilogy (Resilient Warriors, Resilient Leaders, and Resilient Nations) and leads Resilience God Style, a national movement to restore resilience in every area of American life. Dees now serves as President of the National Center for Healthy Veterans equipping and empowering military veterans to positively impact culture as role models for youth, as business leaders, and as standard bearers in every walk of life.
He is a 1972 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and holds degrees from Command and General Staff College, the Naval Postgraduate School, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and the Royal College of Defence Studies in London. Dees speaks nationally at seminars and conferences providing commentary on leadership, national security, and resilience.
He and his wife Kathleen have three grown children and nine grandchildren. They are grateful for the privilege to serve God, the Nation and others.
